Halloween just ended last night and folks are already shopping for Turkey Day and picking up on the great deals on discounts for the halloween candy that wasn't sold. For the next couple months, the lines at Walmart will become increasingly annoy. Unlike in previous years around here, all the registers would be open to handle the flow, but in order to save money - it's not happening yet. So, take a chair and your TV and enjoy the wait.
So what motivated me to whine? This morning I was reading some posts on the net and someone who has had a relentless battle with headaches said she couldn't get into the doc until January 20. That's a freaking long time when you're suffering from headaches. So, I'm reading through the comments and one person said that the waiting time should be shorter when obamacare kicks in. My first response was, "You're an idiot." My second and third were the same as the first.
Look back at the first paragraph. A shortage of registers equals long lines. It's simple math. Now fast forward to obamacare. At the moment, there's a shortage of doctors. It's only going to get worse because lots of doctors are planning early retirements. Students in med school are dropping out, because it's just not worth it when they look at the future of what obamacare will do to the medical field.
If we use the same simple math that we used for Walmart - lack of registers equals long lines, which means LONGER waiting times. Lack of doctors, an influx of patients does what? It equals longer lines and longer waiting times. Sorry folks. It's not rocket science. I know you extreme liberals out there believe 1 + 1 = anything you want it to equal, but math is math it doesn't change.

Today I saw on twitter that someone named Desiree Jennings got Dystonia from a bad reaction to the flu shot. Her world has gotten temporarily shot down the toilet as a result. The detox will probably help a lot, otherwise, if they put her on the right med, she'll be back training for marathons. In the meantime, her world will feel like it's crashed down around her.
The thing that surprised me in reading the post in Fox DC is they called Dystonia a rare neurological disorder. It's not that rare. 98% of all Ashkenazi Jews have it in some form or other. Maybe for non-Jews it's rare, but for us, well, I guess you could say it's as common as latkes for Chanukah.
I've had it since I was a kid. It wasn't until August of 2001 that I ended up in a wheelchair. It would take another 7 years before a neuro would take it serious and put me on a med that would give me back most of my body.
Sadly, neurologists are perhaps some of the laziest doctors on the planet. That's not just me saying it, it's my GP back in Brooklyn as well. She hates neuros. Why? Because, a large percentage of the time when someone comes in with a neurological disorder like Dystonia or MS, they tell you to see a psychiatrist.
I remember when I was first dx'ed with MS, I read an article that said it can take five neurologists before you find one that's good. Dr. Lewis, my current neuro, is the fifth. He took it serious. Re-dxed me with Dystonia and not MS, put me on Lamictol and a little over a year later I was walking and rarely used my cane, forearm crutches or walker. As for my wheelchair, I'm down to using it only once a year and that's only on mamash bad days.
I've been on Lamictol for almost 2 years now. I'm working out 5 days a week doing kettlebell and turbulence training. This week for interval training, I've been doing short 10 second sprints, walking slowly for 2 minutes and sprinting again. Repeat for 20 minutes. Pretty darn good for someone who previously looked like a mini-version of Michael J. Fox.
All of this to say - there is hope, but you have to chase it down and it's hard when you have a disorder that sucks the life out of you. But, you have to keep trying. Never surrender, never give up.

"Free market" and "capitalism" are evil. It must be done away with, so say a bunch of millionaires in Washington who made their millions because of the free market and capitalism.
What's dumbfounding is how is it possible that people stand and cheer when these millionaires spout anti-capitalistic crap? Don't they hear the hypocrisy? Are they that deaf and dumb?
How about the "redistribution of wealth?" Why aren't they asking obama and everyone in his administration to redistribute half their own wealth? Is it because they know deep inside they'll never part with a single penny, but want you to?
Why are they still supporting this worthless con artist?

Here's a copy of the letter mom received yesterday from the guy who handles our natural gas well:
"Dear land owner and royalty owner:
The Ohio oil and natural gas industry needs your help! Extremist environmental groups have set up shop in Ohio. Their goal is to ban or severely limit Ohio oil and natural gas production. They need to be stopped before they damage what is great about our industry!
Some fringe environmental groups continue to contact their state legislators about proposals that would lead to bans on Ohio oil and natural gas production. This means wells, like the one you currently receive benefits from, may be plugged before their time due to dramatic increases in operating costs. Other property owners may not even have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of oil and natural gas production on their property.
To this end, a new website has been created to give royalty owners - those who see the benefits and impacts of Ohio oil and natural gas production - a voice. Safe Ohio Energy (www.safeohioenergy.com) is a website that is designed to be a resource for royalty owners to contact their state legislators and share their stories on the benefits they have experienced from Ohio oil and natural gas wells.
We think that ALL Ohio property owners should continue to enjoy the freedom of having a well drilled on their property, if they choose to do so. If our opponents get their way, drilling wells in Ohio will cease...."
The letter continues on, but the above was the main part. My brother has had free gas heating for over 30 years and mom receives royalties from our well, which helps a lot when you're on a fixed income. Now these freaking morons want to end it for everyone.
Do environmentalist think oil for their cars and gas to heat their homes appears out of nowhere? If these twerps win, a lot of families are going to be hurting who rely on their wells. Not too mention, the number of people who will lose their jobs.
If you live in Ohio, contact our reps and fight for our oil and gas industry.

In May, 2008, Jihadwatch posted an article on the UK cop who told a teen to "remove an England flag from his car...because it could be offensive to immigrants."
A lot of us blogged that if it happened there, it's only a matter of time before it happens here. I call it the "former-colony-syndrome." We may have declared our independence 1776, but we've made a habit of copying nearly everything England does.
Anyway, it's here, just like we all said. It's not an isolated incident. Remember the Bank of America incident where the branch manager pulled the flag because they considered it offensive.
It doesn't matter if BOA apologises. It doesn't matter that the apartment complex changed their mind. Our flag was considered offensive. Action was taken, even to the point where the woman at the apartment complex said you couldn't have a flag on your car!
Both incidents are a reflection of the liberal mindset. Look at what they voted into the White House. Someone who refused to wear the flag on his lapel. Someone who went to a church for 20 years where anti-american hate speech was the theme of the week. Someone who reflects how they feel about our country. It's sick.
So, to those of you who find our country an embarrassment. Feel free to pack your bags and leave, because we don't need your kind here - nor do we want it. Oh! And take your kenyan leader with you.
Happy trails!
