Fear itself: You can choose to fear or become a champion.

I was listening to Fox News this morning and they kept talking about “fear mongering” and how the dems are using it against the American people when it comes to...well...pretty much about everything.
I couldn’t help but think about an essay I’d just read the day before by Donald Trump in “Think Like A Champion.”

“If you label something as a fear, then it creates fear when sometimes it’s not a fear but a concern.  For example, I know just as well as everyone else that New York City experienced a major terrorist attack and the thought of that is a concern for all of us, because it affects all of us.  It’s happened in many places, so it’s a worldwide concern.  But if we let it become a firmly rooted fear, the terrorists will have won.” (pg 51)

“Fear creates a block that will only hinder your creative thinking.” (pg 52)

“Fear has a way of making things bigger than they are.”  (pg 52)

“...old German proverb...fear makes the wolf bigger than he is...” (pg 52)

“Do not allow fear to settle into place in any part of your life.  It is a defeating attitude and a negative emotion.  Recognize and zap it immediately.  Replace it with a problem-solving attitude, faith in yourself, and hard work.” (pg 53)

The current regimes fear mongering has led people to believe that the American Dream is over.  I’ve met them on message boards, forums and facebook.  There’s the idea that we are doomed and it’s all hopeless unless we go along with everything the current regime says.

But it’s all a lie.  Fear defeats.  It paralyzes.  It makes us unproductive.  It zaps us of the desire to work hard, because why bother.  Well, the reason to bother is because the American Dream isn’t over.  It’s not dead.  It’s very much alive and more than at any time in our country’s history.  We’re surrounded by opportunities that have never existed before if we only open our eyes and look.

There are work-at-home moms who are using the internet to create businesses and add to the family income.   Even in this economy, they are still doing well.  These incredible women have taken the bull by the horns and said I’ll succeed whether the government or economy says I can or not.  They’ve taken advantage of the computer and libraries to educate themselves.  Those who don’t have a computer are using the ones at the library to create their businesses.  They’ve become ghost writers, cardmakers, menu planners, virtual secretaries, how-to writers, product reviewers, and the list goes on.  These inspiring women don’t know the meaning of fear.  They are champions.

Open your eyes up and begin looking around you every day, all day long for opportunities.

“We all have something unique to offer.  Our work is to find out what that is and to work at it with a passion...Get out there and go for it!” (pg 29)
