Israel Celebrates 61 Years of Independence and Tel Aviv’s 100th Anniversary
Beginning at sundown on Tuesday (April 28) and ending at sundown on Wednesday, Israelis will celebrate their country’s Independence Day, known as Yom Ha’atzmaut in Hebrew. Across the country, Israelis will commemorate the holiday with a national ceremony on Mount Herzl, family picnics, barbeques and nature trips.
The State of Israel was formally established on May 14, 1948, when the British relinquished control over the territory and Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion, declared independence.
The following day, armies from the surrounding Arab nations invaded the nascent Jewish state. After months of heavy fighting and casualties on both sides, the War of Independence officially ended in January 1949.
This month also marks 100 years since the founding of Tel Aviv, Israel’s first modern city. Known for its vibrant cultural, economic and intellectual life, today Tel Aviv is an international tourist destination.

It makes you wonder...
What would Homeland Security do to Lee Greenwood if his song, "G-d Bless the USA" had come out this year, instead of 1984. I'm guessing he would have been put #1 on the HS terrorist list. After all, the song is the anti-thesis of the current marxist government agenda. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't just below Rush and Sean. lol

Confessions of a terrorist.
Those of us who were born in 1960 really had the best of both worlds. We not only grew up on the 60's music, but we had the 50's as well!
All kinds of cool things were going on! Outside of Rutland, where I grew up, got electricity in 1962!
There were still lots of one room school houses! My first grade teacher taught at one! She was evil. She could hit a student in the back of the room with a book while standing behind her desk. People didn't sue back then and the principal could whack your butt with a wooden paddle with holes in it.
Aside from all the stuff you find listed in various emails about the 60's, there were things to get involved in! Like the fight for black and other minority rights! Me being Jewish and my two best friends being black, meant our lives were filled with adventure...mainly getting beaten up and beating up everyone else.
Our principal told the parents that we kids were allowed to work out the situation any way we felt we needed - we solved everything with fists - it worked. By 6th grade - no one would touch us and we all became friends. :)
In the early 80's, there was the fight to get El Salvadoran refuges to safety in Canada. It was exciting, and in the end - my spanish still stunk.
Late 80's, there was Operation Rescue in Atlanta! It was the biggest thing I'd been a part of since the 60's school war, a.k.a. Battle of the Fists.

Operation Rescue in Atlanta lived in the headlines. Many of us were arrested (nope, I got cheated out of that one) outside of abortion clinics for trying to save the lives of innocent babies and the sanity of those carrying them.
Those who couldn't participate would drive by after work and pass out food and drinks to us protesters. It was a welcome relief in the Georgia heat.
We saw women change their minds about having an abortion and a few would join in the protest.
We saw girls crying as their parents literally dragged them into the building to murder their grandchild.
We saw policemen say they were against abortion, but they had a job to do. We saw other policemen refuse to arrest protesters because they put ethics above their job. They suffered for it, but didn't care.
We were the enemies, because we were trying to prevent the murder of the innocent. The doctor's murdering the children were the heroes. They were to be admired because in spite of our protests, they continued to murder children behind closed doors.
Now Homeland Security is calling us terrorists for protecting these babies. Obviously, the definition of terrorist has changed.
But who cares? Today, there are a lot of adults who would not exist if we hadn't been there to stop them from being murdered when they were babies. Peoples lives are constantly being saved by others who are still doing the job and were doing the job long before OR.
I'm also a terrorist because I'm a staunch conservative and believe in the Constitution, especially amendments 1, 2, and 10. I'm a gun owner and shoot at trespassers when necessary. It's the foothills of the Appalachians - it's what we do.

Sadly, I'm not a veteran. Arthritis kept me out of the Air Force. But, I'm sure because I come from a long line of veterans - I'm considered a terrorist because of it. :)
I'm proud to be a terrorist and so long as I breathe - I will remain an active one. The marxist scum in the government will make sure I remain active and I don't intend to disappoint them.
I raise my cuppa tea to my fellow terrorists! Long live the rebels!

Special note To my black visitors...
Just thought I should explain that my racial slurs (Kenyan, muzlim) about obama are strictly to irk the liberals who stop by and especially obama's cronies who are monitoring everything written about him on the web. It drives them crazy. It makes them scream! It's a fun sport. :)
So apologies to anyone I might have offended. Now you know my intentions and I hope that helps...come to think of it, it might not, but I tried.

True Confession
I've been avoiding posting, because to tell you the truth - I've enjoyed not looking at the news. I've enjoyed living in my little world of make believe that some dumb muzlim boy isn't occupying the White House. I've enjoyed reading, scootering and when not scootering - thinking about it!
Alas, Dame Lemon of Slice k'vetched that I wasn't updating. I surrender to my fate. But be warned - I've been up since 4 this morning with a sinus headache and I'm really cranky. :)
First, I'd like to say, Melissa, I will never publish your comments and here's why:
1. You never bothered to read what I actually wrote. Might I say, how liberal of you.
2. Type in lots of caps and you're guaranteed not to get your comment posted.
3. The use of the "f" word, even once, gets you banned permanently from getting your comment posted on my blog. I don't put up with ghetto vocabulary. You're permanently banned.
4. Am I better than you? Yes. I am.
Now! On to muzlim boy occupying the White House. Obama, go back to Kenya where you came from. We don't need some ignorant, African boy slamming our country. We don't need some ignorant, black muzlim, hater of the Constitution apologising for us.
We, the actually citizens of the USA, meaning those of us who were born here, have nothing to apologise for. We owe no one an apology, except Israel and G-d. To G-d, for treating His people like crap and trying to take the very Land He gave the Jews, and give it to those G-d refered to as murdering thieves - a.k.a. arabs. That's the only apologies this country owes. If you don't like it - go back to where you came from, Kenya-Boy.
Second note to obama and his cronies. Only a marxist, muzlim-boy scum would threaten our military. You've warned th
em of dire consequences if any soldier says one bad thing against you and your hate for the Constitution. You're not an American - they are. That gives them the right to call you what you are (illegal alien, muzlim-boy scum) and you're stuck with taking it. Don't like it? Go back to Kenya, where you came from.Third note. It is every legal American's right to incite a rebellion against the government when it's been taken over by an illegal alien, muzlim, marxist, commie, socialist, etc. It's our right to defend our country against those who want to take away our Constitution and turn our free country into a dictatorship. If you don't like it - go back to where you came from Kenya boy.
I hope with everything in me that Texas pulls out. I hope other States follow suit. I hope Ohio does. Maybe then people will wake up and take our country back from those of you who want to destroy it.
Now, send your little cronies my way. I'm seriously waiting for them. I have a copy of the Constitution to give them. Of course, I'll probably have to read it to them since your lot are illiterate, but I don't mind.
BTW, you might want to tell them there's a "Beware of Dogs" sign at the beginning of the drive, and the guys who live in the homes across from us are rednecks who love shooting at strangers. It's a bit of a hobby for them around here.
Like I said - I'm really cranky tonight. Sincere - but cranky.

There's a boor in the White House...
Some blacks and whites have been ecstatic that there's a "black" in the White House. It's seen by both black & white as a historical moment.
Let's take a look at this "historical" moment from a historical "white" and "Asian" perspective.
Historically, blacks have been thought of as savage, ignorant barbarians who, despite the invention of the street light, the Cosby Show and thousands of uses for the peanut, have nothing positive to contribute to society at large.
When it comes to Africa, they can't run their continent for the life of them. Pretty much, the world as a whole, has to take care of it since they can't.
Like it or not - that's the way it's seen and the way it's been seen for generations.
Like it or not - obama and his equally crass & boorish wife appear as though they are trying to fulfill white and asian opinions of blacks.
When PM Brown made the traditional visit to the White House, he was greeted as though he were Joe Shmoe. The excuse was obama was tired; he had a lot on his shoulders and he had more important things to focus on.
He gave Brown a gift of DVD's, which were probably the American editions, which don't work on European DVD players.
Brown, on the other hand, gave pearls to swine:
"There was a first edition of Sir Martin Gilbert’s authorized biography of Churchill, all seven volumes of it, so a bit of the Churchill touch endures in the White House on British insistence. There was a framed commissioning paper for HMS Resolute, rescued by an American whaler in 1856; part of HMS Resolute was later made into the desk presented by Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880, and used by American presidents to this day.
And then there was the third present. As Reuters reports it, the gift was:
a pen holder fashioned from the timber of HMS Gannet, a sister ship of the Resolute that also served for a time on anti-slavery missions off Africa."
It's doubtful that obama with his lack of class, refinement and intellect, is capable of comprehending and appreciating the gifts and the background behind them. Therefore - pearls to swine.
And now on to the Queen. The Telegraph said:
"Top advisers to Barack Obama are rehearsing the etiquette and debating what gifts the President will give to Queen Elizabeth when he meets the British monarch in London.
The gifts have been selected with extra care, protocol lessons on royal etiquette are being delivered..."
What top advisors told him an iPod would make the perfect gift to give to the Queen??? What top advisors told his vulgar, barbaric wife that it's ok to hug the Queen???
Where were the rehearsals? Where was the etiquette training?
Gee, I don't know, but what I do know is this - out of everyone who has met the Queen, it's mostly blacks who have refused to follow and/or ignored protocol. I'll leave it with that. It should be enough to say it all.
As for the muzlim's "top advisors" might I suggest acquiring copies of "Culture Shock" and study up on the various cultures of the world and learn etiquette.
You might also want to stop by ehow! There's a simple little list that even you lot might be able to understand when it comes to greeting the Queen.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for obama to give Prince William a boxed set of Star Wars Legos and Prince Harry a copy of "Diary of a Wimp."
